What are organic fertilisers?
If you are a grower looking to make your business more sustainable and environmentally friendly, organic fertilisers can play an important role. They even have several key advantages over chemical fertilisers.
Organic fertilisers are made entirely from natural vegetable or animal ingredients. The nutrients in organic fertilisers, including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, are released when microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi break down the fertilisers. BAC’s organic fertiliser line only uses vegetable ingredients and can therefore bear the “Vegan” quality mark.
The advantages of organic fertilisers.
BAC’s organic fertilisers have a wide range of advantages:
- Using organic fertilisers adds more organic matter to your soil, making it healthier and more fertile.
- They make the soil structure nice and airy.
- They remain active for longer.
- Little to no nutrient leaching.
- No risk of root damage.
- Environmentally friendly
A major advantage of using organic fertilisers is that they improve the structure of the soil. When combined with BAC’s stimulators, organic fertilisers will increase microbiological activity in your soil. Soil life breaks down and converts organic matter into humic acids and amino acids. This process requires oxygen, which is brought in from the outside. The result is fertile soil with high biodiversity. A good structure from which the plant can get plenty of nutrition and water, ensuring a beautiful, healthy crop with great resistance against diseases and pests.
